New channel pops up before the Cricket World Cup!

DStv viewers, from Premium right through to the Access package, have access to SuperSport’s 24-hour pre-Cricket World Cup channel on SuperSport 2 early. The channel will be live until the kick off of the tournament on 30 May, when South Africa plays England in the opening match.

Stirring excitement ahead of the Cricket World Cup

Watch several warm up matches, including:

  • SA-Sri Lanka (May 24)
  • England-Australia (May 25)
  • SA-West Indies (May 26)
  • Australia-Sri Lanka (May 27)
  • West Indies-New Zealand (May 28)

Several other friendlies (Pakistan-Afghanistan, India-New Zealand, Pakistan-Bangladesh, England-Afghanistan and Bangladesh-India) will be broadcast live on SuperSport 6 owing to matches being broadcast at the same time on SS2.

Apart from the matches being broadcast Live, cricket fans can watch World Cup Tournament Tales, which chronicles the Proteas’ Cup heartache through the years, plus archive footage, highlights and team profiles. This year’s Cricket World Cup is going to be most open tournaments yet.

A royal welcome for the players

The opening party, to be held at The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace on 29 May, will also be broadcast live on SS2. It’s a fresh, modern opening that includes a music concert, celebrity-laden street cricket match, celebrity interviews and the arrival of the Cricket World Cup trophy!
