Punch Masenemela joins Dikwena on loan
Mamelodi Sundowns have finally agreed to let their left-back Punch Masenamela move on a loan deal to Platinum Stars.
The ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender will join Dikwena on a six-month loan deal.
It is not clear yet if he will stay for a longer term with Allan Freese’s side upon the expiration of his six-month stay in Rustenburg at the end of the season.
Masenamela has been linked with a move to AmaZulu for some time following unhappiness due to lack of game-time at the Tshwane outfit.
With Dikwena’s Luvo Mpeta having agreed terms with SuperSport United, the Phokeng side are in need of a defender to fill his gap as both clubs seem to have agreed on an immediate transfer.
According to the Bochum-born defender’s agent, Jazzman Mahlakgane, the 28-year-old will join Dikwena on loan.
“Sundowns proposed that we sign a loan agreement for the player to move to Platinum Stars and we agreed. The loan agreement was agreed between the two clubs,” said Mahlakgane.
“I just told them that they must send the player with the same package, I didn’t negotiate for it to go up or down. The player is left with six months of his contract with Sundowns.”
The player is set to grab the opportunity to revive his career as he only made few appearances considering coach Pitso Mosimane’s choices in Mzikayise Mashaba and Tebogo Langerman for that position.
