Serero misses Monday training

Thulani Serero missed South Africa’s training session at the Nike Football Training Centre in Pimville, Soweto, on Monday morning.

The Ajax Amsterdam midfielder, who was named man of the match following South Africa’s 2-1 win over Sudan in their penultimate 2015 AFCON qualifier on Saturday, picked up a slight hamstring injury in the game and is unlikely to feature against the Super Eagles on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates striker Lehlohonolo Majoro returned to training, having missed the game at the weekend with an ankle injury.

Shakes Mashaba’s men leave for Uyo, Nigeria, at 16h00 from the OR Tambo international airport in Johannesburg today.

Bafana Bafana were originally scheduled to leave on Sunday evening, but had to change their travel plans after securing a charter flight.

South Africa have already qualified for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea and will top Group A no matter the result in Nigeria.
