Chippa recruit Chiefs pair

Chippa United have bolstered their squad ahead of the new season by landing Chris Matombo and Zitha Macheke on loan from Kaizer Chiefs.

The pair, both only 21, did not feature in an official first team game last season, but have been tipped for bright futures.

Defender Macheke and midfielder Matombo will spend the entire 2015/16 campaign in Port Elizabeth.

“We want them to get game time and exposure,” said Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung.

“They need to play to gain experience. Like Lucky Baloyi, who went on loan to Moroka Swallows last season, and even captaining the team.

“We are happy that Chippa came on board for both talents.”
